Day One of Matilti Web Design!
Welcome / Bienvenidos! Today is the official launch of Matilti Web Design, an Austin-based design and brand company tailoring its services to help business owners build a strong online presence, convert visitors to customers, and increase revenue. Learn how to pronounce Matilti.
Essentially, Matilti is in the business of helping business owners become successful. To be frank, I love website design and collaborating with people to unpack their aspirations and develop them into coherent and engaging web pages. Designing websites for business owners provides the opportunity to be of service to something grander than myself. Consider these small business statistics:
The definition of a small business:
Varies by industry according to revenue and employees.
Is an independently owned business.
On the hi-end, is a business that employs < 500 people.
According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce:
U.S. economy consists of 99.9% small business owners (33.2 million).
46% of Americans are employed by small business – that 61.6 million jobs.
Small business owners contribute 44% of U.S. gross domestic product.
The statistics are incredible and shed light on the daily contributions of Americans across a spectrum of industries. Much of their economic output relies on the ubiquitous technology of the digital age to operate, market, and elevate businesses to greater heights."
Here is a snapshot of how technology and success have become interdependent on the web:
99% of consumers rely on the internet to make choices about local businesses.
73% of business owners have a website.
The remainder of business owners cite various reasons for no web presence including:
The business is too small to warrant a website.
Cost.
Social media is free; on the flipside, it lacks lead generation and can damage the brand.
61% of U.S. internet traffic comes from mobile users.
81% of consumers research a business online before making a purchase.
When a business owner decides to invest in a website, consideration for a return on the investment, attentiveness to its client base, and the long-term benefits are key factors. For visitors, the design must be simple, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing. For owners, it must be easy to navigate, offer site analytics, and allow for simple page updates. These are the principles used in a Matilti web design.
In the lead up to this business launch, I discovered an incredible community of website professionals who have been helpful with their knowledge and passion for the business, including Designing the Row, Visual Vibe Design, Paige Brunton, and Web Designer Pro. Thank you for your incredible generosity.
And with that, Matilti Web Design formally takes the reins of small business ownership.
Hasta la próxima!
